Dr. Marwan Issa is an accomplished educator, innovator, and leader with over 25 years of experience advancing K–12 and higher education in the United States and abroad. He holds a Bachelor’s in Computer Science and a Master’s in Human-Computer Interaction from the University of Michigan, a Ph.D. in Technology from Eastern Michigan University’s College of Engineering, and an MBA from the Ross School of Business.
As Founder and Director of Arbor Valley Academy (AVA), Dr. Issa has guided the school’s growth into a global leader offering a flexible, accredited American curriculum to students worldwide. Under his leadership, AVA has launched online diploma programs, I-20 visa options, and international teacher exchange initiatives that foster global academic collaboration.
Dr. Issa is also the Founder of SchoolWide Solutions, a company developing K–12 educational software systems that enhance academic management and operational efficiency. In addition, he is a partner at Code-Based Labs, an organization dedicated to integrating artificial intelligence into K–12 education through innovative learning tools and applied research.

Marisa began her teaching adventure over 20 years ago when she graduated from the University of South Florida and opened the door to her first classroom. She could immediately see the profound struggle of students reading below grade level and threw herself into the world of literacy. From this first step, Marisa has been dedicated to providing the highest quality learning experiences to diverse populations. Her current role allows her to support teachers and adult learners across the content and grade levels and use her passion for data-informed instruction to guide planning and drive student achievement.
